Summer project: Postcard

So as a little warm up before we start the course in September, they set us a summer project which was to illustrate a postcard with a scene or narrative local to where we live. I decided to pick the castle which sits in my hometown because I really do appreciate it and it's the only nice thing about this place apart from my friends and family. I'm really loving posca pens at the minute, I only have a white one and I can't stop using it! It's lovely to add extra detail in, especially over black ink.

  1. And here's what I wanted to comment on <3

This is just stunning. As is my creative non-drawing-skills way, I hate anyone with talent, so I SUPER hate you right now. This also involves my favourite things: Castles. You have no idea. At first glance it's simple but then it draws you in and you see all the nuances and details.

I've never heard of Posca pens, though this looks great on top of the blue and black; I know Copic markers are excellent but expensive. I should never be allowed to buy pens like these because I couldn't do them justice with my stick figures.

And now iIll leave you alone. Ciao.

  2. This sounds like a really lovely project to do! Might try and do some kind of postcardy illustrations from the recent trip I took to Dunnottar Castle! I'm loving the use of white on top too. I really want to have a look into posca pens, they sound really awesome!
