The first image will be printed in a zine for the Tenderfoot exhibition- more about that on this post here.

I finally gave painting a go but it really isn't my strongest point because I have trouble mixing the right amount of paint. It seems like a dumb excuse but I mean I get the perfect colour and then never have enough to fill large areas so it all ends up being uneven and not as thick as I'd like it! I think painting up some papers and collaging them together would be better as I find that's an easier way to translate my initial ideas. Otherwise I should stick to crayons and pens.

I do however love working with bright yellows and pinks; they are so summery!

  1. I really love these, especially the first and third. I love the layers and depth and abstraction. I know what you mean about mixing up paint - I never seem to make enugh either :/

I thought that only I have problem with mixing enough paint ;) It's easier with watercolor, but with opaque paints never ;)

  3. I love the pineapple! And the colors are so vibrant. Lovely!

I totally feel you. Acrylic paint is my signature medium---but even then I have trouble not mixing enough for the background! But it's really not that hard to deal with.

And the thing about thickness is sometimes it really helps enhance a piece by giving it texture.

    1. Yeah It's easy to work around but sometimes a little irratating especially if you work fast (I do most of the time because I'm so impatient!) That's true, I love building the texture. Thanks for the comment :) x
