Featured in Artful Blogging Spring 2017

Hello! Last year I was invited to contribute to the 2017 Spring issue of Artful Blogging, published by Stampington, where they featured my Instagram in celebration of Insta blogging.

For the article I decided to write about my thoughts on Instagram and how it can be used to the advantage of a creative. I've always been really into sharing my creations online and sometimes I think people underestimate the influence it can have. Even though it is "just the internet" it seems pretty silly to completely ignore it when we're constantly carrying our phones around anyway. Sharing a quick snap on Instagram is so easy, why not if it means people can see your work and possibly offer you more opportunities?

I was so excited to see this in print because I loved the layout of the whole thing and I've never really viewed my Instagram as something that could be featured somewhere. It's a beautiful magazine in terms of photography and content which is more than likely helped by the fact that it's mostly written by bloggers. If you're interested in the magazine you can purchase a copy online here or check to see if it's available in store in your area (I think there's a few in the UK!)

Monday; hello again!

Hello! I didn't get round to posting last week, I just ended up being super busy and wanted to focus on my final project instead. I've also been on a little break from Twitter and I'm really enjoying not using it as much. It's a nice way to share my blog posts and I like to join in with the cbloggers chat every now and again, but usually it just makes me feel overwhelmed and I don't think I ever have anything useful to contribute. On the other hand I've been loving Instagram a lot more and if you don't already follow me you can find me @amyhodkin

Earlier this week Louise kindly featured me on her blog, Love Print Studio, as part of her Creative Quarters segment. I love her blog because it's always so colourful and creative! It gave me the chance to share stuff about my design work and I loved the images she selected so please take a quick look if you can.

A Sunday at Salts Mill

Hello lovelies! Jake and I spent our Sunday at the wonderful Salts Mill in Saltaire. The last time I blogged about this place was in 2015 so I thought it wouldn't matter too much since that was quite a while ago.

I love this building because it's so weird and wonderful. I love the big windows letting in lots of light and when you peek out of them you catch glimpses of the sweet village of Saltaire. I love the classical music they play when you're browsing the art books and its strangely calming vibe. I love wandering through the antique centre on the second floor and how throughout the mill there is always a great focus on art. They even make the cafes look cute with colourful chairs and a hand painted Hockney mural! A new addition we did notice is the limited edition "A Bigger Book" by David Hockney they have on display which is massive and packed with full page coloured prints.

I don't really have much more to say about this place so I'll let the photos do the talking. It's definitely worth visiting if you're ever in Leeds as it's only a short train ride away and the station is literally across the street. Have a wonderful week!
